அமெரிக்காவின் தேசிய சமுதாய சேவை நிறுவனம், அமெரிக்கக் கலாச்சாரம், சேவை மற்றும் குடிமைப் பொறுப்புடமையை வலுப்படுத்த, வருடத்திற்கு 50 இலட்சம் மனித நாட்களுக்கு இணையான தன்னார்வத் தொண்டர்களின் சேவையை, அதற்கான நிதி ஆதாரங்களை, அமெரிக்கத் தொண்டரணி (AmeriCorps), அமெரிக்காவிற்கான கற்றலும் சேவையும் (Learn and Serve America), மூத்தோர் தொண்டரணி (Senior Corps) போன்ற பல்வேறு திட்டங்களின் மூலமாகத் திரட்டுகிறது. அதில் மூத்தோர் தொண்டரணி மிக முக்கிய பங்கு வகிக்கின்றது. அதில் ஓய்வுபெற்ற மூத்தோர் தன்னார்வ சேவை (அனுபவ முதிர்ச்சியால் வழிநடத்தும் திட்டம் - Retired and Senior Volunteer Program - RSVP), மூத்தோர் தோழமைத் திட்டம் (மூத்த குடிமக்களுக்கு ஆதரவாக செயல்படுவது Senior Companion Program - SCP), வளர்ப்பு (தாத்தா பாட்டி) மூதாதையர் (முதியோர் மூலம் குழந்தைகளைப் பராமரிப்பது - Foster Grandparents program) போன்ற மூன்று திட்டங்கள் முக்கியமானது.

The organization of the Corporation for National and Community Service that engages older people in serving those in need in their communities. There are three programs in the Senior Corps: the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), the Senior Companion Program (SCP), and the Foster Grandparents program.
