பாலியல் பிறழ்ச்சி (sexual deviation) என்பது இயல்பற்ற பாலியல் செயலைக் குறிக்கும். பாலியல் சீர்கேடு (sexual disorder) இயல்பற்ற பாலியல் பிறழ்ச்சியை மட்டுமல்ல அதையும் கடந்து, மலட்டுத் தன்மை அல்லது காமமின்மை போன்ற பிரச்சனைகளோடு சம்பந்தப்பட்டது. பாலியல் சீர்கேடு, பாலுணர்வுத் தூண்டல் சீர்கேடு (sexual arousal disorder), பாலியல் வெறுப்புக் கோளாறு, பாலியல் விராகக் கோளாறு (sexual aversion disorder) பாலியல் விருப்பக் கோளாறுகள் (sexual desire disorders) போன்றவற்றையும் உள்ளடக்கியது.
