குழந்தைகள் மற்றும் பெண்களைப் பாலியல் பலாத்காரம் செய்தோ, வன்புணர்ச்சியில் ஈடுபட்டோ தண்டிக்கப்பட்டு, சிறை சென்று விடுதலையானாலும், தொடர்ந்து குழந்தைகளுக்கும், பெண்களுக்கும் அச்சுறுத்தலாக இருப்பவர்களை அடையாளப்படுத்த உபயோகிக்கப்படும் வார்த்தை. இவர்கள் சிறையிலிருந்து விடுவிக்கப்பட்டாலும், எந்தப்பகுதியில் குடியிருக்கின்றார்கள் என்பதைக் அக்குடியிருப்பு வாசிகளுக்குத் தெரியும்படி காவல் துறை நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கவேண்டும் என்பது சட்ட விதி.

A person who has been convicted of sexual assaults on children or women and, after release from incarceration, is still considered dangerous to children or women. Some communities and jurisdictions have brought about laws and judgments designating the person as a "sexual predator" as long as that individual remains in the neighborhood.
