பன்முகப் பிரச்சனைகள் உள்ள குடும்பத்தில், குடும்பச் சிகிச்சை முறைகளுக்கு ஒத்துழைக்காத, சில சிகிச்சை முறைகளுக்கு உடன்படாத, சிகிச்சைக்கான அமர்வுகளுக்குத் தொடர்ந்து வருகை தராத பெற்றோர்களைத் தவிர்த்து விட்டு, சிகிச்சையின் போது பெற்றோருடைய பிரசன்னம் சிகிச்சை அமர்வுகளைச் சுமுகமாகக் கொண்டு செல்லாது என்று தெரியும் பட்சம், உடன் பிறந்தாருக்கு மட்டும் கொடுக்கப்படும் சிகிச்சை. இதனால் உடன் பிறந்தவர்களுக்கிடையில் பரஸ்பர புரிதல் மேம்பட்டு, உணர்வுபூர்வமான ஓட்டுதலை வளர்ப்பதன் மூலம் குடும்பத்தில் அமைதியை உருவாக்கச் செய்யப்படும் சிகிச்சை.

The use of family therapy and other forms of helping interventions with a multiproblem family, working only with children. This model is sometimes used when parents are uncooperative, resistant, or so inconsistent that their presence is more disruptive than productive. The children are helped to develop and strengthen the bonds that exist between them so they can be more effective in providing one another with needed supports.
