social work team

A system for delivering social services in which several professional social workers, social work associates, case aides, indigenous workers, volunteers, and various ad hoc specialists work in an integrated and coordinated way to achieve a specified goal. The team members discuss in advance all the activities that can be accomplished to achieve the goal efficiently, and then various assignments toward that end are made by the social worker-team leader. Social workers also participate in interdisciplinary teams in such fields as mental health, health care, and developmental care.
