எந்த முகாந்திரமும் இல்லாமல், காயமுண்டாகிவிடுமோ, வலிக்குமோ அல்லது வலியேற்பட வாய்ப்பு உண்டாகிவிடுமோ என்ற அதீத பயம். இது மனதில் உருவாகி உடலில் நிலைபெறும் வலிசார்ந்த பயம்.

One of the somatoform disorders, in which the person is overly concerned about hurt or the potential for being hurt. The preoccupation with pain occurs in the absence of any physical findings that would account for the pain or the intensity with which it is experienced. This condition is currently called psychogenic pain disorder.
