தகுதியினடிப்படையில் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டவர்களுக்கு, ஜெர்மன் நாட்டில் கொடுக்கப்படும் பல்வேறு சமூக நல உதவிகள். இந்தத் திட்டம் ஜெர்மானிய ஸ்தல ஸ்தாபன அரசுகளின் உள்ளூர் வரிகளால் நடத்தப்படுகிறது. இதற்கு மாறாக ஜெர்மனியின் சமூகப்பாதுகாப்பு திட்டம் பயனர்களின் பங்களிப்பான கட்டுப் பணத்துடன் நடத்தப்படுவதாகும். சமூக நல உதவிகள், ஜெர்மனியின் தேசிய நோக்கமான 'கவுரவமான வாழ்க்கைக்கான உரிமை' என்பதனடிப்படையில் வழங்கப்படுகிறது.

The means-tested income maintenance program used in Germany as a supplement to its social security program. Sozialhilfe is funded primarily from local government taxes and is not related to the amount of contributions made by the recipient, as in the case of the German Social Security program. The amounts paid are consistent with the German policy to ensure a "dignified existence".
