test-retest reliability

In research, the degree to which a test or procedure achieves a similar outcome the second time it is administered to a group of subjects. For example, a group of social work students might be asked to take an aptitude test and after a period of time to retake it. Reliability is considered low if the second set of scores is very different from the first set.
