ஒரு வாழ்க்கைப் பருவத்திலிருந்து அல்லது ஒரு வாழ்க்கைப் பிரச்சனையிலிருந்து இன்னொரு பருவத்திற்கு அல்லது பிரச்சனைக்கு (எ.கா. கன்னிப் பெண்ணிற்கு திருமணமாவது, தந்தையாவது), மாறும்போது பரஸ்பரம் உதவிக் கொள்ளளும்படியான அல்லது சேர்ந்து வாழும்படியான குழுக்கள் 2. இடைக்காலத் தங்குமிடங்களில் வாழும் குழுக்கள். 3. வளரிளம் பருவத்திலோ அல்லது வாலிபப்பருவம் அடையும் பருவத்திலோ பரஸ்பர உதவிக்காகக் கொடுக்கப்படும் உளவியல் ரீதியாக, சிகிச்சைக்காக ஒன்றிணைக்கப்படும் தற்காலிகக் குழுக்கள்.

Residents of a transitional living facility. 3. A form of group psychotherapy or social group work involving preadolescent and pubescent children (latency-age children) who do not need the intensive experience of group treatment but benefit from mutual support that they cannot get in home situations or with peers.
