variable ratio schedule

In behavior modification, a planned procedure of intermittent reinforcement in which the reinforcement is given on a varying basis around some average. The reinforcement is given only after several of the behaviors are emitted on one occasion and then given after a different number of behaviors are emitted on a different occasion.
