ஒரு பணியாளர், தனக்குப் பணி செய்ய வாய்ப்பளித்த முதலாளி, பணி செய்யுமிடத்திய நிலைமைகள், பிற பணியாளர்களுடனும், தன்னுடைய வாடிக்கையாளர்களுடனும், அந்தப் பணியில் அவருக்கான எதிர்கால வாய்ப்புகளைப் பற்றியும் கொண்டிருக்கும் திருப்தியான, நேர்மறையான மனோபாவம். ஒருவருக்குப் பணியில் ஏற்படும் திருப்தி அவருடைய பணித்திறனை / செயல்திறனை அதிகரிக்கும் என்ற கண்ணோட்டம் எப்பொழுதும் சரியாக அமைவதில்லை. பணியில் ஏற்படும் திருப்தியும், பணித்திறனும் ஒன்றிற்கு ஒன்று தொடர்புடையதல்ல.
