இளைஞர்களுக்குப் பயன்படும் / சேவை செய்யும் பல்வேறு நிறுவனங்களை, குறிப்பாக இளைஞர்களுக்கும், யுவதிகளுக்குமான சாரணர் இயக்கங்கள் (Boys /Girls Scouts), (பெற்றோர் பராமரிப்பற்ற) இளவயது ஆண் மற்றும் பெண்களுக்கு வழிகாட்டும் தன்னார்வ அமைப்பு (Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America), இளம் ஆண்கள் மற்றும் பெண்களுக்கான கிறிஸ்தவர் சங்கங்கள், இளம் ஆண்கள் மற்றும் பெண்களுக்கான ஹீப்ரு சங்கங்கள், 4 H சங்கங்கள் போன்ற அமைப்புகளை உதாரணமாகக் கூறலாம். தேசம் தழுவிய தன்னார்வ அமைப்புகளான இவைகள், இளைஞர்கள் தங்களின் முழுத்திறனையும் எட்டுவதற்குத் தேவையான செயல்திட்டங்களை வகுத்துச் செயல்படுகின்றன. படிப்பினையைத் தரும் பொழுதுபோக்குகள், உடல்வலிமை பெறுவதற்கான பயிற்சிகள், மனவளர்ச்சிக்கான பயிற்சிகள், சமூகத் திறன் மேம்பாடு, எதையும் சமாளிக்கும் ஆற்றல், பண்பாட்டுப் பயிற்சி போன்றவற்றின் மூலமாக இளைஞர்களின் ஒருங்கிணைந்த ஆளுமைத் திறன் வளர்ச்சிக்கு இந்த அமைப்புகள் உதவுகின்றன.

Privately funded and administered federated organizations, usually with chapters or recreational facilities in most communities in the United States, whose purpose is to help young people achieve their developmental potentials. They focus on educationally oriented recreation, handicrafts, and sports activities designed to help youngsters keep physically fit and emotionally healthy while learning social skills, practical coping strategies, and moral conduct. Among the many groups of this type are the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts/Girl Guides, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA), the Young Men's and Young Women's Hebrew Associations (YM—YWHA), and the 4-H Clubs.
